Fancy running in the Atlas Mountains?
My ears prick up at the mention of some kind of trip that involves mountains and running.
So, here's an opportunity to get you truly excited about adventure, running and the Year 2016.
I have teamed up with Howard Chambers, running coach and founder of The Right Altitude, for a pretty awesome and very unique adventure. Howard, who is very experienced with managing adventure trips for large groups, as well as knowing this area, approached me to see if I fancied being part of a pretty exceptional training trip, running in the Atlas Mountains.
I thought about it hard. For about five seconds. Yes, most definitely Howard.
So now I appeal to any long distance/keen runners to pencil in your diaries the 24th - 29th March for a training trip to the Atlas Mountains. A perfect trip for anyone who wants an adventure, would like to run more in a mountain setting, or is preparing for some big race events next year. This is set to be a very well organised and well facilitated trip to enable runners to make the most of the sport they love best, with a good team and in a superbly supported environment.
There will be a chance to focus on practising running techniques, running with Berber guides, opportunities to chat under the stars while camping with fellow keen runners, listen to talks, as well as the chance to stay in the stunning Kasbah du Toubkal.
Good times, good chats. Good running.
Not long after, I approached Nikki Barnard (bestie and fellow co-star of Running Wild ) about this adventure. We don't need much excuse to get adventure planning, nor to find an opportunity to run together. Nikki was on board to help out Howard too, and we are fully psyched to be part of this adventure trip to the Atlas Mountains!
